As a training resource for firearm instructors, academy trainers, and individual officers, we publish Tactical Police Competition Courses of Fire after they are used at one of our training events. Courses are designed as either a Skill-Based Course or Scenario-Based Course.
Skill-Based Courses challenge the officer's skills and abilities in handling, accuracy and overall proficiency with a given firearm system under set conditions.
Scenario Based Courses place the officer in a hypothetical law enforcement encounter. The officer must then decide how to run the course and solve the challenges presented according to their own tactics and skills.
Courses are listed by Type and Round Count, so you can quickly find the type of course you are looking for within the Course Library. Clicking on the course link will bring up a PDF file containing the Course Description page, the Materials List for the course and the Course Score Sheet (some older course do not have score sheets included).
If you find a course that fits your needs but you want to make adjustments in the number of targets, description or otherwise want to customize it for your needs, you can e-mail us at [email protected] with the Course Number. We will send you the course in MS Word format so that you can customize it for your training needs. Of course, you cannot use our material for commercial purposes, and all copyright protections remain in full force and effect for all material.
The NRA Law Enforcement Division offers a complete police shooting program to police departments and law enforcement agencies to encourage patrol officers to gain more experience, training and time on the range using their duty firearms.
