The NRA's PPC State Team Postal Match was conceived and borne in 1992. A state's "Postal Team" is comprised of the top six competitor scores (a competitor must reside in the state whose team he/she is a member of), as shot at their State Championship. At the end of the year, the highest scoring state "Postal Team" is announced at the end of the calendar year. Each state Postal Team member receives a brassard and hat pin, with the high scoring state team receiving the NRA Police Pistol Combat State Team Medal.
The NRA Law Enforcement Division offers a complete police shooting program to police departments and law enforcement agencies to encourage patrol officers to gain more experience, training and time on the range using their duty firearms.
